How does Project Plus compare budget hours with actual tracked time?

Planned effort and actual effort are kept separate and compared in the Budget card.

Project Plus stores planned effort as budget hours and actual effort as tracked time.

The Budget card compares those two measures at the Project level and, where available, at the Task level.

  • Budget hours: planned effort defined by the template or updated for the Project.
  • Actual time: time submitted through Project Plus time tracking.

This makes it possible to see whether a Project is consuming effort faster or slower than expected without replacing the native HubSpot Project record.

For cross-Project analysis of actual time, use the Tracked Time report. For workload planning, use Resource Capacity.
