How do pipelines, Project Type and Project Template work together?
Three fields can coexist because they answer different questions.
Project Plus treats these three concepts separately:
- Pipeline: What lifecycle does this Project follow?
- Project Type: How does your organization classify this Project?
- Project Template: What exact work package should Project Plus create?
A Software Implementation pipeline could contain HubSpot, Salesforce and NetSuite templates. Project Type can still classify those Projects as Service, Service - Onboarding or another value that fits your reporting model.
This avoids using pipelines as product lists. A new pipeline is only needed when the underlying process changes.
